What’s it like to be 21 in 2020?
Being 21 in the 1980s
I remember being 21 just like yesterday, which was many years ago, almost like half a century ago. It was in the 1980s.
Singing in the Car
The 1980s had great music, such as I Wanna Dance with someone by Whitney Houston. I still haven’t found what I am looking for by U2, Cross Your Broken Heart by the Jets, Nothing Gonna Stop Us Now by Starship. (this song I love is from a movie the Mannequin (1987). If you haven’t seen it, check it on Netflix or Blockbuster if they have one somewhere in the states.) And Never Gonna Give you Up by Rick Astley.
The music was fantastic in the 1980s. I still listen to it on my car radio. Did you know there is a radio station that plays classical music from the 1980s? If you found one, leave it on, and you will love it. It’s like a time machine. Your car won’t fly like in Back to the Future (1985), a great movie franchise, and great music.
The music in the 1980s was fun, energetic that you want to rock out and dance or sing out loud in the car, but don’t get caught by the police, they might give you a warning and let you go. All we can say is, “Thank you, officer.” I got pullover once. She was nice. She let me go. She lived in my neighborhood. She lived across the street from me. She was watching me.
