This ain’t your ordinary ghost story — it’s a tale straight from the skies, whispered about in the halls of NATO and nearly lost to time. But some stories refuse to be forgotten…

It was the first or second week of May in 1963, back when the Cold War had the world on edge and secrets lurked in every shadow. A woman, an English language secretary working for NATO, was on a journey unlike any other. She and forty-nine others were set to cross the Atlantic, bound for Ottawa, Canada, for a NATO Ministerial Meeting. The DC-8 flight lifted off from Orly Airport in Paris around 10 AM, slicing through a sky so clear it was like glass.

Now, this wasn’t your usual commercial flight. Something felt… different. There were no tourists, no families — just rows of empty seats and the murmur of military personnel. It felt like they were on a mission, though no one spoke of it. The air was thick with an unspoken tension. The woman, eager to settle in for the long haul, chose a window seat. She noticed a bigger window than usual — a perfect view of the endless ocean below.

That’s when she saw it.
