The Missing Hour: Taken by a UFO
On the way home from our friend’s dinner party, my wife and three sons traveled along a long straight road near an RAF base in southeast England at around 10 p.m.
Then an astonishing burst of light happened, which both my wife and I observed, but it also managed to wake up one of my boys, who was then twelve. After that, something flew over us in total silence, so close you could have touched it. It was huge.
We eventually arrived home, talked it through, and deduced that the flare could have come from a nearby military base. The gigantic item that glided above us must have been a Eurasian Eagle Owl (there had been one reported in this region previously). Then we quickly forgot about it.
Was it an owl with a light? Or what just happened.
Fast forward over a decade, and during dinner, my youngest son, who had been asleep throughout the event, reveals he recalls it differently. He had never told me this before, assuming it was a dream. Instead, he described the car stopping and a small object hovering above us for a few seconds before disappearing, which I had missed.
We hadn’t noticed then that my wife had only called her sister when we arrived home around 11:45 p.m., more than an hour after leaving at 10 p.m., suggesting perhaps something had delayed our journey!
Did one of my sons get abducted? While he was sleeping?
I have no idea what happened that night. I was sober.
My youngest son insists that something very odd happened.
My wife insists that it took approximately 90 minutes for us to drive 15 minutes.
Her sister supports her statement. So therefore, I am confident that something happened that night, even though I don’t know what happened.
