Haunted Hotel

The Hawkeye state of Iowa contains innumerable urban legends and scary tales about various locations. We all know at least one ghost or spirit story, and most of them are entertaining local lore. The legend of a haunted hotel is well-known to the residents of Bentonsport.

It’s a tale that’s well-known throughout Iowa. Some assert that this place was haunted by as many as several ghosts.

The hotel was constructed in 1846 as a lodging option for steamboat passengers. At one point, it was even a part of the Underground Railroad. It was utilized as a hospital numerous time.

The Mason House, formerly this hotel, is now a delightful bed & breakfast. Additionally, guests are welcome to spend the night with the spirits.

This hotel is home to a sizable number of spirits. Fortunately, the spirits are cordial.

Ghost lingering rooms to rooms

Room 7 is home to one of the most well-known ghosts. He is said to go by Knapp and usually lightly tugs at blankets or garments.

Additionally, Room 8 is haunted. Some seem to glimpse an older woman dressed in a white nightgown. There is also a tiny boy who is reportedly moving around.

So many people think this place is haunted mainly because of the spirits that hang near the area.

Three of the prior proprietors of the Inn passed away here, which is why many people think this place is haunted.

Years ago, one of the visitors was killed. During the Civil War, the Inn served as a hospital, and one of the doctors fell ill and passed away in his own office.
