The Fossil that Inspires Aliens is a 300- Million-year-old relic Got Stolen
Although most of us do not believe in aliens, this odd fossil may cause you to pause and think. This relic is the ancient fossil that inspired Ridley Scott’s iconic sci-fi horror film Alien’s extraterrestrial adversaries. Swiss surrealist artist Hans Rudolf Giger created alien. Ridley Scott approached to design the creatures after seeing Giger’s artwork Necronom IV, one of his numerous creations based on the fossils.
Mr. Giger’s designs, one of which was all too famously shown bursting out of a character’s breast on screen, won his team an Academy Award for Best Achievement in Visual Effects for the 1979 picture and the next franchise. On the other hand, the stranger-than-fiction fossil is the remains of an early type of life that lived on our planet 300 million years ago. When the exceedingly rare fossil was on exhibit in Switzerland, it drew a large number of people and enticed a burglar. The thief, who broke into the case and took the prize exhibit from the Aathal dinosaur museum, is thought to be a fossil collector, according to police.
