Mid Orange Correctional Facility & the Ballerinas
The Mid-Orange Correctional Facility is a former security prison and a Boy reformation, and it is located in Warwick, New York. It’s a beautiful and picturesque view of the place, with a sparkling lake, mountain views, and winding roads. But when you come to the building itself, it does not look attractive, especially with its dark history.
In the mid-1930s, the buildings were constructed, especially the three-story Manor House, the oldest. One of the office buildings is a CBD startup. Maybe the ghost will get high? In the 1900s, the prisoners were merely drug addicts and alcoholics.
Then later, it was Boys Reform School. The boys were violent repeat offenders taking them back to school again; they will do the crime again. Getting their education is a must, so they were taught at the reformation. Teenage boys end up living in this place, and they were mistreated.
In 1945, when Eleanor Roosevelt, the first lady, heard about this place, she attended the facility and reported that the conditions and treatment were not good. Something needs to be done.
In 1976, it transformed into an adult prison, with the rooms they had a shortage of space to put the criminals. So they share cramp cells, crowded bunks, and the gymnasium turned into jail rooms. They were overcrowded.
