Haunted Kings High School in Arizona
The Mohave County Union High School first began operations here in 1917. Kingman High School was the name given to it subsequently. A brand-new Kingman High School North campus for sophomores, juniors, and seniors opened its doors in 1993. Although first-year students attended the old (“South”) school, Kingman North became the community’s main high school as Kingman’s population grew. White Cliffs Middle School replaced Kingman South. Eventually, Kingman High housed 2,059 students. A second high school was required due to this overcrowding.
On July 5th, 1973, the flaming Doxol propane truck burst, killing firefighters, including Richard Lee Williams, the principal of Kingman High School and a volunteer firefighter at the time. They left behind families, friends, and an impression on everyone in the neighborhood. The community pays tribute to their memory by being proud of their school, striving to uphold their legacy, and being the most excellent versions of ourselves daily.
The school mascot is the Volunteers.
The construction team unearthed several coffins alongside artifacts such as cufflinks and bracelets when constructing the school. As a result, some of the graves were relocated. A few graves were relocated in 1944 due to re-intervention costs, but unclaimed bodies remain at the school.
