Haunted Fort Leavenworth
As you may know, yesterday was Memorial Day or Decoration Day. People in the armed forces protect us from danger and even help the United States from natural disasters. We have to congratulate the men and women on their hard work.
Fort Leavenworth, a U.S. Army garrison with a rich history, is believed by many to be one of the most haunted locations in the country. Despite its continuous use today, residents and tourists claim that its buildings and grounds are home to numerous ghosts. Among the most famous is Gen. George Armstrong Custer, who is rumored to haunt the General’s Residence and another location on our list. Despite his controversial history, his spirit is said to linger here.
Not all hauntings are equal, and the Rookery at 14 Summer Place is a testament to that. As the oldest and most haunted structure, it has a chilling reputation. The U.S. Army has documented numerous ghostly visitors, strange noises, and missing equipment. But the most terrifying encounters are with a ghostly woman, her long hair a stark contrast to her terrifying attacks on locals, her claws leaving a lasting impression.
