In Cresson, Pennsylvania, an abandoned property has a haunted past. It is the Cresson Sanatorium Prison
There are so many different types of history there. With over 100 years of history, this Sanatorium in Cresson is the most haunted prison in the United States.
Early in the 20th century, work on a tuberculosis sanitarium began. Although the official opening was in December 1913, the first patients were admitted in December 1912. It served as a facility where sick children and adults may receive care and isolation.
At the time, tuberculosis was still entirely new, and experimental therapies were being used, according to Crisci. During research and treatment, unpleasant procedures were used. There were numerous fatalities. There was a great deal of ignorance.
In the 1980s, SCI-Cresson became a medium-security prison after being transformed into a hospital and mental facility.
Therefore, they had everyone — from murderers to serial killers, according to Crisci. Every offense you could conceivably commit.
The building was shut down in 2013, and the property is currently used for various agricultural initiatives by the new owners, Big House Produce. Visitors can also set up times to tour the grounds.
That there are ghosts from the past residing on the property, they began offering paranormal investigation in July.
The strange thing about this site, Crisci said from within one of the structures, is this. You frequently have the impression that someone is watching or following you. People have reported seeing shadow figures and apparitions; we often hear knocks and voices. And it would mimic any sounds or voices and make you believe there’s another you in the building, but it is not you.
The building itself would cause you to have a delusion of feelings and emotions. It makes you go crazy inside.
So, according to Crisci, you have pain, loss, forgiveness, regret, and hope. Up here, there is a lot of vigorous activity.
