Exorcist: The Believer (movie review)
If you have seen Exorcist: The Believer, the movie was good. The original Exorcist (1973) was better. 50 years ago. As you may know, the book and the movie were thoroughly researched. It was well-written, and it scared us. Back in the 1970s, people had an open mind and let the fear inside scare us.
When people saw The Exorcist (1973) on the big screen for the first time, they did not know what the movie was about. It scared the audience; people fainted during the show, and they had the ambulance on standby. Either they were dehydrated or did not eat at all. They were at the theater. They could have grabbed bottled water and a small popcorn box and watched the movie.
Certain scenes made the audience faint — the injection of the needles into Regan’s body. Still, people fainted seeing the hand going inside Regan’s body. Another scene was the grotesque scene of Regan’s body transforming into the devil, twisting the head, and spitting green stuff on the priest. The priest did not melt.
Oh, by the way, devil possession is real. There are countless stories of people being possessed by the devil or Satan every day.
Hollywood writers, please consider this. Instead of making a sequel to The Exorcist, the Believer tells other true stories of devil possessions. Why make Linda Blair battle with the devil? It makes…
