If you haven’t heard about Cocaine bear. In that case, this is a movie about a Black bear that consumes several bags of cocaine that were unintentionally airdropped into woodland in Georgia during a failed smuggling attempt. As a result, the bear goes on a killing spree, causing havoc among the locals, driven by drug-induced anger and a craving for more cocaine. In the meantime, the drug traffickers — led by the late Ray Liotta (1954 -2022) in his final performance — search the forest for their missing cargo without realizing they risk becoming food for bears.

If you think this movie is based on a true story, yes. Or if you heard about it. The ripped-up remains of cocaine bundles were found in Georgia’s Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in 1985 by detectives looking for drugs dropped by an aerial smuggler. Every 40 shipments reportedly contained one kilogram of cocaine, totaling 88 pounds and an estimated $20 million in value at the time.

They also discovered a huge, dead black bear nearby that had allegedly helped himself to the product. At the time, an item from the Associated Press stated that authorities thought the bear had consumed “cocaine worth several million…
