On July 6, 1944, a fire started during a matinee performance of the Ringling brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus in Hartford, Connecticut. Thousands of people attended the circus, and few people survived. However, it left almost 170 people (168) dead and nearly 700 people (682) injured.

A man stares at a clown and faints

At Zak Bagan Haunted Museum, a man came in and saw the clown stare at it for s few seconds and immediately fainted. Did the clown scare him? No, it did not. Even though the museum is genuinely haunted, the artifacts can cause harm to people — either by fainting or possession.

Despite not ranking among the top 20 worst fires in American history, the Hartford Circus Fire is frequently mentioned as one of the worst fire catastrophes in American history. It makes sense. Two-thirds of those who died were children, according to the account.

In addition, it was midday at a family-friendly event where everyone was there to have an enjoyable time. Instead, it left a considerable number of people injured and dead. Not that you can ever prepare for tragedy, but for some, like this one, you can never prepare.
