Canceling Children Books? What to Read to Our Children
Who came up to cancel Dr. Seuss’s books? We read these books to our children in bed every night. I still have these books in my library. His books are a classic to read. What’s next? Cancel Dr. Seuss’s animated shows next. Too soon? Stop canceling everything. If we cancel everything, we would be bored, and we would read books that we love to read to our children. Especially ban books, because they showed us what it was like back then when our culture was different, and now it is different. And people tell stories to teach us about people and their behavior.
There are so many banned children’s books, and here are the titles:
Hop on Pop — Dr. Seuss
Charlotte’s Web — E.B. White
Where’s Waldo — Martin Hemdford (My favorite)
The Giver — Lois Lowry
Harriet the Spy — Louise Fitzhugh
Where the Sidewalk Ends — Shel Silverstein
The Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe — C.S. Lewis
Where the Wild Things Are — Maurice Sendak
Hansel and Gretel — Brothers Grimm
A Wrinkle in Time — Madeleine L’ Engle
