Bloodbath in the Bathroom
Nicole and the other nurse worked the night shift at a bone marrow transplant facility. It was about 3:30 am, and they had five patients. She surprised a coworker who had just exited room 4 as she came around the corner. The bathroom door suddenly closed on her while she emptied a urinal, which startled her and caused her to splash urine on herself, but I digress. She needed a shower.
She continued by informing us that a young man in that room had passed away horribly. Approximately four hours before he left for home, the man heard a loud bang (around 4 am). A person falling can be heard… They hurriedly entered the room to find this man in the restroom with the central line disconnected and blood everywhere. He was coded, but he passed away in the restroom. Nobody knows what happened or why he withdrew his line, but it was a bloodbath. Horrible, horrible…this is where it gets scary.
A lovely little old lady visits that room a few weeks later and inquires with the nurse as to whether anyone had passed away there.
Given that this was a hospital, the nurse replied that someone could have passed away.
According to the woman, “I assume a young boy died in here,” The woman replies, “Because he’s talking to me.”
When the nurse asks why. Aghhh!! Okay, she was not making this up, but this woman has a triple lumen central line.
Later, when the nurse enters, there is blood all over. Her sentence has a cut in it. Cut, not pulled out. The room is devoid of scissors.
He did it, the woman claims.
Scary.
