Bigfoot or a Big Black Bear
A bigfoot, typically described as 9 feet tall with enormous feet, was spotted by a group of teenagers hiking and camping in the woods.
A party of graduates had gone to camp in the southern portion of the parish, close to the towns of Derry and Gorum, in the Kisatchie National Forest, approximately a mile and a half off the Backbone Trail. The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that they planned to set up camp there.
Around 9:20 p.m. on Friday, one of the groups — all 17 or 18 — unexpectedly called 911. The caller was afraid, the news release said.
“They reportedly heard a growl and saw what appeared to be an animal that had glowing eyes and stood about 5 feet tall,” the caller stated in their request for assistance.
According to the report, two deputies were sent to the area, and a thorough search was conducted. They walked in the direction of the campsite and looked for any indications of unusual activity or glowing eyes.
The footprint was not a bigfoot but eventually a black bear; black bears like to roam across the campsite because they smell food or possibly people in the area.
It could be a possibility of a bigfoot, and the footprints didn’t match.
When the group called for the deputies, they discovered everyone was safe, a moment of immense relief for all involved.
However, they took the entire group out of the forest as a precaution since the post claimed it might have been a bear or Bigfoot. It says that deputies discovered nothing blazing in the eyes or roaring, ensuring the safety of all involved.
One of the campers said they heard an unusual growl while leaving the campsite.
