Alien Hand Syndrome
Have you ever felt something crawling up your body? Something is undressing you — something pulling things off from you and possibly groping you in the middle of the night. And when you wake up, your other hand has your clothes!
You have Alien Hand Syndrome (AHS), or Anarchic Hand; it’s a rare neurological disorder that causes a person to lose control over a limb.
It’s the real thing.
It’s not an alien grabbing you, and it’s a rare disorder. Even doctors are confused, and patients are frightened.
AHS can caused by several factors, including Stroke, Trauma, Tumor, cancer, Neurodegenerative diseases, and Brain aneurysms.
Here are some TV shows and movies that depict Alien hand syndrome
In 1964, in Stanley Kurbrick’s dark comedy “Dr Strangelove,” his hand was grabbing his throat and raising it in a way to a Nazi salute. During that time in 1960, it was called “Dr. Strangelove Syndrome.”

- Dark Matters: Twisted But True. AHS is described in an episode of the Discovery Science documentary TV series and its history is traced.
- Scream Queens, In season 2, Dr. Brock Holt appears to have AHS.
