On a wintery morning in January 1978, unidentified aerial phenomena (UFOs) were observed in flight over nearby military installations, namely Fort Dix and McGuire Air Force Base.

The New Jersey State Police were conducting a search when the Air Force security patrol told them to give access at the rear gate of McGuire AFB.

Sgt. Jeff Morse, one of the airmen on duty, informed the state trooper that a low-flying UFO was pursuing him and hovering over his automobile.

Then he noticed a shadowy figure with an unnaturally large head and an emaciated body standing ominously in front of his car. Sgt. Morse’s breath caught in his throat as he realized what he was seeing. It wasn’t human. The creature’s eyes glowed with an otherworldly light piercing through the swirling snowstorm. Before he could react, the alien turned and began to glide away. Panic surged through him. Sgt. Morse fumbled for his 45-automatic rifle, his hands trembling. He fired wildly into the blinding snowfall, each shot echoing into the night. But there was no sign of the creature, only the haunting silence of the winter storm.

The alien corpse was discovered sprawled grotesquely on the runway; it looked like the alien creature crawled to the runway while it was injured. Sgt. Morse shot it and killed it.
