A Woman Orders Pizza and Died.
A pizza delivery driver’s life might be unpredictable at times. However, what occurs when the unexpected discovery isn’t a large gratuity or an incorrect address but rather the uncomfortable knowledge that your most recent client didn’t survive to taste their pizza? A driver in Kentucky encountered this very circumstance, and the evening will never be forgotten.
When a Redditor asked delivery drivers to share their strangest tales, a Lexington, Kentucky-based pizza delivery driver responded with an unexpected story. On this typical Wednesday, he received a familiar order: a pepperoni pizza for one of his regular customers.
The elderly woman who called every week without fail was the regular. In less than ten minutes, her order — which the pizza place knew by heart — was prepared. Without further thinking, the driver set out on the little journey.
However, as soon as he arrived, he discovered an ambulance parked outside the house. Perhaps he thought his client had suffered a small injury or had fallen. He went to the door carrying the pizza and rang the bell, expecting his normal cordial greeting.
Rather, the door was opened by a younger woman. The daughter of the customer? When she identified herself and gave him the rundown, he realized that his fears were right — the old lady had died shortly before he arrived.
