A man named Robert Taylor lived in the quiet town of Livingston, nestled in West Lothian. Bob, as he was fondly called, was a forestry worker for the Livingston Development Corporation. He was known for his honesty and dedication, a man who had spent years tending to the woods and understanding their every whisper.
On the crisp morning of November 9, 1979, Bob set out with his faithful red setter, Lara, to inspect the young trees near Dechmont Law, a prominent hill in the area. Parking his pickup truck near the M8 motorway, he and Lara ventured into the forest. The ground was damp with morning dew, and the air filled with the earthy scent of pine.
As they walked deeper into the woods, Bob noticed something unusual in a clearing ahead. Hovering silently above the forest floor was a large, circular object about 20 feet in diameter. Its surface was dark and rough, resembling sandpaper, and it emitted an acrid odor, much like burning brakes. Around its rim were structures that resembled small propellers. Bob stood transfixed, trying to comprehend what lay before him.
