A Plane Refueling in the Sky Drew a Penis Shape on Flightradar24.
The U.S. Air Force denies that KC-135 Stratotanker pilots deliberately flew a flight route that looked like a penis to internet spectators while aiming their aircraft toward a Russian naval station in Syria.
“We’re aware of the incident and are talking with the KC-135 crew to determine the details,” an Air Force spokesperson told Military.com last week. “At this time, we do not believe the crew misbehaved, flying a refueling orbit consistent with requirements that met the needs of receiver aircraft.”
The announcement follows social media users’ observations that the Air Force plane’s flight route last week drew a long oval and two circles that resembled a penis pointing directly at Russian forces in Syria. Flightradar24 is a service dedicated to tracking planes around the world.
The Air Force contends that the pilots, who were making a refueling trip between Cyprus and Tartus, Syria, behaved appropriately during their flight and that the course they were taking was compatible with the enormous route tanker would travel during refueling operations.
The apparent coincidence of the flight path coincides with rising hostilities between the United States and Russia, which is still encroaching on Ukraine and has been essentially cut off from the rest of the world.
