The late, famous Greek-born actor Telly Savalas, best known for his iconic TV depiction of the lollipop-loving detective Theo Kojak, experienced a real ghostly experience at three in the morning while driving home on Long Island. When he ran out of gas one July morning in 1954, he decided to go to a nearby interstate, hoping there might still be a gas station open for business.
